The Nafsika hotel, one of several five-star properties located on an historically aristocratic and fabled Greek peninsula, appears to have been carved from the island's living rock. Its overtly contemporary, avant-garde architecture was purposely designed with public spaces situated on the entry level and guestrooms and suites located at the back, along a series of terraced layers that step gracefully down the hillside to the shining sea below. The hotel features extraordinarily generous guestrooms - spacious, airy and minimalist in design - that not only offer panoramic views of the bay, but also provide cool, refreshing respite from the blazing Mediterranean sun. The interior design in this sleek, contemporary hotel and resort skillfully brings together elemental components inspired by the lush, sun-drenched island setting, using a sophisticated palette of colors representative of the local vernacular to complement the dramatic natural backdrop and exploit its sweeping views of the Aegean Sea.
